The Western Union Company is an American multinational financial services company founded in 1851 and headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In the 1980s, Western Union moved its business away from telecoms and focused increasingly on money transfer services. By the year 2006, it had completely shut down telecom operations. Western union is famously known by the New York Times as "the world's largest money transfer business"
